Service and Outreach Ministry Team Charter<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose:\"\"<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Facilitate and organize outreach services to the community by assessing the needs of the congregation and community and implementing services through<\/span> subcommittees. Utilize other resources such as area churches and organizations when appropriate.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ground Rules:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Conduct meetings in a timely fashion. Work together with respect for others as we work to reach consensus decision of team goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Oversee the following subcommittees and identify new activities in the community: Parish Health Ministry, Endowment Program, Special Benevolence Program, St. Francis Kitchen \u201cHost for a Day\u201d Program, Red Cross Blood Drives, Meals-on-Wheels, Ugly Quilts, Ministerium Food Pantry, Sunday School Service Projects and Assistance for Senior Citizens. Form sub-committees and task forces as needed. Oversee the goals and implementation of goals of the subcommittees. Subcommittees will report to chairperson and liaison who will report to council Endowment Program member nominations will come from this team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meetings:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Meetings will be scheduled quarterly, unless otherwise needed. An annual meeting will be held for all Ministry Teams jointly.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Budget:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The service and outreach team will be responsible for monetary expenses as related to the service and outreach function of the congregation in accordance with the budget of the current fiscal year. The team will have the latitude to reappropriate funds within its budget categories. The necessity to expend funds related to the service and outreach function of the congregation beyond the current budget will be referred to the congregation council for its authorization. Particular attention shall be paid to monitoring the distribution of money from the endowment, regular benevolence, and special benevolence funds, and the team shall report back to the congregation about the use of the funds.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Boundaries:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The responsibility for the investments of Endowment funds falls under the Support Ministry Team; however nominations for members will come from the Service and Outreach Ministry Team, which also has the responsibility to disperse money from the endowment, regular benevolence, and special benevolence funds.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Measure of Success:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The measurement of success can be related to comments on the willingness of volunteers to come forward and participate. A description of places where services are provided can also be used in the assessment of success. Mutual assessment by the five ministry teams might also prove helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n
